Advances In Dental Office Administration

The administration team acts as the bridge connecting all other aspects of the dental practice together. This series will work to strengthen that bridge by increasing understanding about the nuance that goes into ensuring a dental office runs smoothly and what separates it from offices in other fields. These lectures will cover topics like record keeping, defamation law, insurance company policies, and fee guides and is for all the whole office administration team.

Record Keeping

The Learning Stream 165 Highway 20 West, Fonthill, Ontario, Canada

Presented by: Greg Anderson

Professional, ethical and legal responsibilities require that a complete chart and record documenting all aspects of each patient’s dental care be maintained. A detailed chart accurately records the patient’s dental condition when first presenting at the office, assists and supports a proper diagnosis and treatment planning, and provides a clear description of the patient’s ongoing care. Good records are also the dentist’s best defence in the event of a formal complaint or lawsuit. In this presentation, RCDSO representatives offer guidance and practical advice in understanding the dental record keeping requirements in Ontario.
